Custom Conveyor was founded in 1984 by Steve Harmon, a long time power transmission professional who saw an opportunity to create his own business by using his extensive industry knowledge to build and sell high quality machines to the industrial customers who had come to trust his expertise. Since then, Custom Conveyor has produced thousands of specialty conveyors and industrial automation machines for customers around the world, from Fortune 500 companies to mom-and-pop manufacturers. 

Today, Custom Conveyor continues its dedication to earning and keeping the trust of our customers by applying our combined decades of experience to their problems and then standing by our solutions. Whether you are an experienced user of factory automation or looking to purchase your first piece of custom equipment, we are dedicated to finding the right fit solution to your challenges and to supporting it for as long as you own it. 

Custom Conveyor is ready to work with you the way that you want to work. Some customers come to us with machines already designed, and we are happy to build, test, and deliver them. Most customers, however, come to us with a question. Often that question is “Is it possible?”, and in most cases the answer is “Yes.” We can provide on-site or remote engineering consultations, help to guide the data and fact gathering needed to validate a concept, and ultimately design and deliver the solution.

In 2021, Custom Conveyor moved into a new building in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, tripling our production capacity. We are continuously upgrading our equipment and design capabilities to better serve the rapidly changing manufacturing and processing industries.
